NGF Crisis: Pro-Ameachi Governors To Shun Monday NGF meeting

Amaechi and Jang: Fight to finish

Governors in the camp of Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State are set to stay away from Nigerian Governors' Forum emergency meeting scheduled for tomorrow, and convened by Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State.
The meeting was called to resolve the impasse over the non-payment of February arrears to states by the Federal Government.

Recall that Finance Commissioners of the 36 states on June 13 walk out on the Minister of State for Finance, Dr Yerima Lawan Ngama, over the non-payment N160 billion arrears.
Northern Governors Forum torn apart

But pro-Amaechi governors read politics into the economic matter and would seek to stay away from Abuja, even as their say on the contentious matter would profit their states and the nation.

Controversy arise over Amaechi's claim to victory

However, some may yet decide to either send their deputies instead of staying away outrightly. But hardcore elements in Amaechi camp see it as endorsement of Jang and are hellbent about putting up any kind of appearance.

Controversy rage the governors forum since Amaechi camp announced he had defeated Jang by 19 to 16 votes at the May 24 election. Jang had insisted that he won the election, even producing evidence of signatures of his endorsement.
